2018 National Conference Wrap

Emily Wood | May 18, 2018

The 2018 National Conference: Future Thinking held on May 2-3 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne brought together a broad range of speakers from across the energy landscape.  We would like to thank all those who participated in the event as speakers, sponsors and delegates.  Your valuable contributions and support are the key to making this years’ conference the success that it was.

If you were playing ‘Energy Buzzword Bingo’ you would have made quick work of your sheet with the phrases ‘energy transition’, ‘renewable energy’, ‘NEG’, ‘market reform’, ‘innovation’, ‘energy affordability’, ‘sustainability’, ‘gas’, and ‘emissions reductions’ coming up time and time again throughout the two days.

But as well as hearing these key phrases, we were thrilled to hear solution focused, positive and respectful dialogue taking place amongst participants.  While there will always be different opinions there is a lot if commonality on the key issues, shared ideas and solutions aimed at delivering better outcomes for energy users.

We found the open and constructive conversations that took place at the 2018 National Conference: Future Thinking extremely valuable as we hope you did also. Over the course of the year we are planning more opportunities to further many of the ideas that were floated at the conference. We look forward to your continued involvement in these conversations so that we can continue the learnings and sharing valuable ideas that we hope will lead to better outcomes for all.

It was a packed two-day event so if you weren’t able to make it or to help those who did to distil down the salient points, we have summarised our key take-outs in the attached document.

Your feedback and ideas are always welcome. Please contact us via euaa@euaa.com.au
