Jodie Haigh

A long standing employee of the EUAA, Jodie has has worked with three CEOs and has developed extensive knowledge and expertise organising countless events including conferences, breakfast briefings and member forums.

Jodie is the backbone of the organisation and her wealth of knowledge, attention to detail and positive and proactive nature provides an invaluable resource to members, CEO, board and staff.

Mark Grenning

Mark who has been in this role since 2015, has been a long term Director and past Chairman of the EUAA. He is a member of the AEMO 2024 ISP Consumer Panel and the Grattan Institute’s Energy and Climate Reference Group. He was a member of the AER’s Consumer Challenge Panel from 2016-21, and from 2017-2021, presented the Energy Supply and Value Chains course in the Master of Energy Systems course at the University of Melbourne.

Prior to these roles, Mark had a 30 year career in Rio Tinto with a focus on energy management. In the last 7 years he was the global subject matter expert advising on energy supply options to Rio Tinto’s operations. He has had extensive experience in representing users interests in a variety of national energy forums, including 12 years on the AEMC Reliability Panel to 2015.

Alan Markham

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Alan’s career has taken him around the world building expertise across a broad range of companies including Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse Coopers in South Africa, the USA and Australia.

Working with the EUAA for more than 10 years, Alan brings 5 years’ experience within the manufacturing sector in Australia, and extensive experience from working in the energy sector which included managing the corporatisation and then privatisation of the Victorian SEC's energy efficiency arm and advising the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (which merged to become the Clean Energy Council).

Emily Wood

An experienced and enthusiastic communications professional Emily has a background in all facets of communication from media relations, issues management, crisis management, internal communications, community relations and marketing. Emily joined the EUAA in 2016 and while new to membership organisations, Emily brings with her over a decade of experience in the energy sector, after working with both generators and retailers.

In her role at the EUAA Emily is responsible for media relations, conference marketing, branding and other external facing communications.

Kyllie McMullen

Kyllie comes to the EUAA from the Banking and Finance sector, with the past 13 years at ANZ Banking Corporation

In her most recent role as Contract Manager Kyllie managed several large vendor contracts which supplied goods across the entire Retail Branch Network.
Kyllie has many years’ experience in Business Development, Account and Relationship management roles with extensive stakeholder management as well as New product and procedure development both in the private and banking sector.

Leigh Clemow

Leigh has over 25 years’ experience in the energy sector with extensive technical and commercial knowledge of the energy supply chains in Australia. He has assisted investors, industry, farmers and communities to better manage their current and future electricity supply and demand through implementation of energy efficiency, renewable energy and storage technologies.

Leigh also runs his own energy consulting business, partnering with business, other consultants and government to deliver real outcomes for business.

Leigh holds a PhD majoring in industrial chemistry and an Executive Masters in Public Administration majoring in public and business administration.

Chair - Mr Brian Morris

Brian recently joined Macquarie Capital’s Australian Infrastructure team based in Melbourne. Brian comes to Macquarie with over 30 years’ experience within the energy sector and has extensive energy market origination and energy trading experience, including renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).
Brian has a deep understanding of energy financial markets and has worked with a number of large energy users on financial and physical grid connected and behind the meter energy management solutions.
Prior to joining Macquarie, Brian worked at Schneider Electric for 7 years where he lead the Energy and Sustainability Services business in Australia, a diverse and profitable team of 75 staff focused on improving the sustainability and energy productivity of commercial and industrial sector clients.
Brian was a founder and Director of Creative Energy Solutions from 2003 – 2010, the first specialist energy advisor to be awarded an Australian Financial Services License.

Deputy Chair - Bridgette Carter

Bridgette Carter is the Manager Energy Sourcing and Utilisation for BlueScope Steel. She manages the team responsible for procuring BlueScope’s Australian energy and utility needs, overseeing contracts worth in excess of $170 million per annum across more than 50 operational sites. Bridgette has spent over 20 years in the manufacturing sector with significant experience in energy procurement, energy and carbon accounting, energy efficiency, energy regulation compliance and energy policy. She holds a degree in Engineering as well as a Masters in Professional Accounting.

Melissa Perrow

Melissa is responsible for managing Brickworks' energy needs as a large user of electricity and gas. Through its ownership of Austral Bricks, Brickworks is one of Australia’s largest natural gas consumers and directly buys gas on a wholesale basis acting as its own gas retailer.
Melissa has been a leading advocate for biomethane as a pathway to decarbonise brickmaking, which is a high-heat industrial process not capable of being electrified.
Melissa currently manages a feasibility project to develop an anaerobic digestion facility co-located with an Austral Bricks plant located in Western Sydney.
Melissa has 20 years of wholesale energy trading experience gained across electricity, gas, carbon and green markets and previously worked for Origin Energy and AGL. She holds a Bachelor in Applied Science, a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Diploma in Technology, a Post Graduate Cer????ficate in Applied Finance and is currently studying a Global MBA. She has been a director of the Energy Users' Association of Australia since 2019. She is currently serving as a member of the Reliability Panel (under the Australian Energy Market Commission) representing the interests of large electricity consumers.

Scott Hall

Scott manages electricity and natural gas procurement for Simplot Australia’s food manufacturing facilities along with environmental compliance and developing a culture of energy, water, and waste efficiency.

He has been a board member of the EUAA for four years.
Having previously worked as a project engineer at multiple Simplot sites in Tasmania and Victoria, he understands the needs of modern industry and is passionate about ensuring the correct energy frameworks and policies are in place so manufacturing can sustainably continue in Australia.

Scott graduated with honours from the University of Tasmania with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Dr Penelope Crossley

Dr Penelope Crossley is a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney where she specialises in the complex legal issues associated with the energy and resources sectors. In particular, her research focuses on the fields of comparative renewable energy and energy storage law, electricity market governance, and the intersection between tort law and the energy and resources sector. Penelope is the Senior Industry Advisor to the Australian Energy Storage Alliance on regulatory and policy issues and a member of the interdisciplinary Energy Storage Research Network (EStoReN) at the University of Sydney. Her PhD on ‘Reconceptualising Renewable Energy Law: A Comparative Study of the National Laws Designed to Accelerate the Deployment of Renewable Energy,’ was awarded in 2015.

Prior to entering academia, Penelope practised as a Solicitor in London and Beijing for a Magic Circle law firm specialising in Global Energy and Infrastructure Law. She has also worked in-house for a major energy company advising their alternative energy division on issues related to emissions trading, renewable energy, emerging consumer markets and technologies.

Ryan Santowski

Ryan Santowski leads Visy Group's energy practise as General Manager - Energy. This includes responsibility for energy procurement, trading, energy utilisation and optimisation, behind the meter investments, demand management and advocacy. Visy's ambition is to be the global leader in sustainable packaging and resource recovery in which energy plays a considerable part. Ryan has 15 years' experience across mining and manufacturing, including both domestic and international energy responsibilities. He holds a degree in Commerce and is a Certified Energy Manager.

Treasurer - Lisa Zembrodt

As Director of the Markets and Strategy teams of Schneider Electric’s Energy and Sustainability Services division in Australia, Lisa is passionate about leading clients in the journey from passive to active energy management. Through supply-side energy management services including Risk Management, Energy Sourcing/Procurement, Research & Forecasting/Analytics, and bespoke Solutions Consulting, Lisa and her teams drive value for clients by reducing spend, protecting budgets, and improving investment decisions.
Lisa came to Schneider Electric from Ernst & Young in 2006 to forecast global gas and oil markets. She then led global Fortune 500 client accounts in building and implementing corporate energy hedging strategies as a Risk Manager. Her expertise was pivotal in the risk management and investment decisions of both industrial users and energy producers. After leading Schneider Electric’s Global Research & Analytics team, Lisa joined the Pacific Zone ESS operations to lead the Markets and Strategy teams. Lisa is passionate about energy markets and coaching & developing her teams to think innovatively to create value for Schneider's clients.

Marghanita Johnson

Marghanita Johnson has been Executive Director of the Australian Aluminium Council since 2019. She has over 20 years’ experience in the Australian mining and manufacturing sectors, predominantly within the aluminium industry. Prior to joining the Council she led government engagement and advocacy on behalf of Rio Tinto’s Pacific Aluminium assets and prior to that held key climate and sustainability roles at Rio Tinto.

Guy Cunard

Currently General Manager Operations for CR Mining and responsible for the company’s manufacturing facilities in Australia, Guy has 40 years’ experience in energy intensive industries, including mining, smelting and steelmaking, and has held senior operational leadership roles at Molycop, Tomago Aluminium and WMC Resources.

With a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s Degree in Applied Finance and a registered company director, Guy is passionate about improving the cost competitiveness and prosperity of Australian domestic manufacturing in order to compete against imported products from low cost countries.

Mel Cheesman

Mel leads Orica’s engagement strategy with governments and regulators across global markets. An experienced lobbyist, Mel has spent over 25 years advising small, medium and multinational businesses on policy formulation and government engagement. Mel has also advised Australian governments – most recently as Senior Adviser on Trade to the Australian Federal Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment.

Jane Mansfield

Jane Mansfield has responsibility for the Group’s energy procurement, operations, renewables, and emissions accounting activities. She is also leading the deployment and orchestration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) such as rooftop solar, batteries, and flexible load controls, to help support stable and safe operations of the grid and reduce the Group’s energy costs. Jane holds a degree in Engineering and Masters in Commerce, and has worked for almost 30 years across oil refining & supply, energy intensive manufacturing, and grocery retail in various technical, commercial and sustainability roles.
